THANK YOU from ART KESSNICK

I would like to say Thank You to all who supported me during my terms as Third Vice.

Through the years we did many activities, which were all supported by the VFW Group. Ray & Mary Ann Dumont were always the First to sign up & pay. Followed by Jim & Candy Hensley, Bernie & Janet Martini, Bill & Gert Murray, Don Berning,  Stanley Snodgrass, Jim & Helen Burns  and more.

Many thanks to Dick & Darnae Nelson for being the Best Bartenders. along with Janet & Jerry Hull selling Raffle Tickets on our  Keeneland Trips and to all those who loaded/unloaded the Drinks & Cleaned up afterwards. There have been several over the years.

Our Dutch Bowling at Heid’s was well attended in the beginning then it slowed down and was mostly atteneded by the O’Keepe family & our friends Larry & Mary Eckhoff with their family.

Who can forget our trips to Indiana:

Fried Chicken Lunch in Shelbyville, Train ride to Metamora for shopping, then back to the Post to share our day’s adventure with others. “Great Fun”

First Trip Boogstown Cabaret for a Christmas show. Where Jim Hensley sang a Christmas Carol to his mother. We had Lunch then to the Casino for  a couple of hours of Gambling.

Second Trip: Boogstown Cabaret was an Elvis music show where our guest Judy Hetz enjoyed dancing with Elvis, Lunch and over to the Casino for gambling.

Murder Mystery dinners on a Sunday Afternoon. Mysteries like Roaring 20’s, Masquerade Ball, Last Will & Testament, 80’s Mysteries, Who Shot Santa Claus, just to name a few.  Jim & Helen Burns were our assistance at the door, while Tony Schinaman cooked the steaks. “Great Mystery Times”

2-Club event held at Robins Nest, Dick Nelson took care of putting the teams together, by picking your team from a deck of cards. Winners announced at the Post after eating and while watching the Bengals on TV.

Pig Roast prepared by Danny Leisgang is a new event starting in 2017. But has been doing well. Not much to do at this event, just show up eat and watch the Bengals. Danny Leisgang does all the work.

I may have forgotten something, but it was a long run (10+ years)  “It was GREAT FUN!!”

I want to wish our new Third Vice “Gary Stern” good luck with his new adventures.

Looking forward to being a supporter of his events, along with all of you. I just ask that you support him as well as you have me.

“Thanks for the Memories”

for an amount of
‘up to and including their life.’

That is Honor,
